Kuranda

Tagesausflug nach Kuranda

Mit dem Zug von 1890 sind wir von Cairns nach Kuranda durch den Regenwald, 15 Tunnel und an zwei schoenen Wasserfaellen vorbei gefahren.

Kuranda ist ein kleiner aber schoener Ort, wo man gemuetlich umher bummeln konnte. Danach sind wir mit der Skyrail (Seilbahn) wieder zurueck nach Cairns gefahren. Hierbei konnten wir die volle Pracht des Regenwaldes von oben geniessen und an zwei Stationen den Wald und deren Lebewesen zu Fuss erkunden.

On a daytrip we went to Kuranda which is north of Cairns. To get to Kuranda we went on an old fashion railway. We drove through 15 tunnels, passed 2 waterfalls and saw a lot of rainforest. Kuranda is a small village with lots of shops and restaurants.

After spending a little time with shopping we head back to Cairns on the skyrail. With the skyrail you drive over the rainforest. So you actually can see the rainforest underneath you. There is also the possibility to hop off and explore the rainforest.
